Scholarship AwardedJaEun Ku, Korean Studies Librarian at the Richard C. Rudolph East Asian Library, has been selected as a recipient of the 2007 Dianna V. Braddom FRFDS Scholarship Award by the Library Administration and Management Association (LAMA). Ms. Ku will receive her award of $1,000 at the LAMA President’s Program on Sunday, June 24, 2007 during the ALA Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. Information Literacy funding at UCLA Is there an event that you’d like to attend that could enhance your information literacy skills and knowledge? Wondering about how to fund it? Support of up to $750 may be available for activities and training related to information literacy, including teaching, presentation skills, technologies used for instructional purposes, and information literacy program development. Examples include attending or presenting at pre-conferences, workshops, courses, webinars, and seminars. Looking for a good book on information literacy? The Ilene F. Rockman Publication of the Year Award for 2007 goes to "Centers for Learning: Writing Centers and Libraries in Collaboration, Publications in Librarianship #58," written by James K. Elmborg, associate professor, School of Library and Information Science at the University of Iowa, and Sheril Hook, coordinator of Instructional Services at the University of Toronto, Mississauga. The award recognizes an outstanding publication related to instruction in a library environment published in the preceding two years, and honors Ilene F. Rockman's professional contributions to academic librarianship in the area of information literacy. The authors will be presented with the $3,000 award and plaque during the 2007 American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference in Washington D.C. at the IS program on Sunday, June 24, 2007, at 1:30 p.m. Cheryl A.
