CLICC and Library staff teamed up to develop a laptop checkout kiosk program that won a Larry L. Sautter Award at this year’s UCCSC (UC Computing Support Coordinators) conference at UC San Diego. Named MALCOM (Mostly Automated Laptop Checkout Machine), the project sought to simplify the laptop checkout process and streamline support, enabling library circulation desk staff to handle the checkout/checkin process while the CLICC staff tends to the user support and upkeep of the hardware and software.

Save the Dates!

The 2006 TA Resource Fair and the Graduate Student Orientation are just around the corner. Would you like to represent the UCLA Library while building relationships with new TAs and incoming graduate students? We’re looking for interested volunteers from the Library to participate in these outreach efforts.

The TA Resource Fair will take place on Monday, September 25, 2006, 8:30am-9:30am at Dickson Court South. Volunteers are needed for the hour-long event.

The Graduate Student Orientation will take place on Friday, September 22, 2006, from 12:30pm – 4 pm, in Ackerman Grand Ballroom. Volunteers are needed for one to two hour shifts during this time.
