Classification

The Library Human Resources Department provides advice, guidance, and consultation to library supervisors in the area of classification for staff positions. LHR staff members work collaboratively with supervisors on classification issues including:

  • developing new position descriptions and determining appropriate title series and level of classification;
  • updating current job descriptions; and
  • developing and compiling data for updating job descriptions that warrant reclassification (upward, downward, lateral).
