Establishing New Series

New series (i.e., series new to UCLA’s bibliographic database) should be established following both LC form and tracing practice when an LC authority record exists in the national authority file. "New series" includes "author- title" series (i.e., 800, 810, 811) as well as "title" series.

Rationale: Following the national standard should reduce time spent both in creating original records and in modifying shared records.
